Buying a Hammock Stand

So you have finally got the hammock you want for your backyard, but now you need to make a decision on how you want to hang it.  Do you want to hang it between 2 trees or are you going to go for a hammock stand instead.  Although putting up a hammock isn't difficult there are still a few things to consider before you decide to use either a stand or just 2 trees.  In this particular we will look at what you need in order to get a stand that is right for your hammock.

Wooden hammock stands add a touch of elegance to any yard or patio design, but they do require some maintenance.  In order to keep the stand in good condition it is recommended that you treat it once a year with a water repellant stain.  Not only will the wood maintain its beautiful color but it will also be able to stand what ever the weather decides to throw at it.
   
   The most popular type of wooden hammock stand available is known as the "Roman Arc" hammock stand and it usually made from the wood of the Cypress tree.  Plus this stand is also the safest and most stable of the wooden hammock designs around.  The other disadvantage to this type of stand is its cost.

So when looking for a hammock stand for your hammock consider the points above and you should find the one that will suit your needs and your budget.
